WHAT IS A MARTIAL ARTS MINISTRY?

At St. Louis Martial Arts Center we are a church that believes that God has created us as a 3-part being (spirit, mind, body) and therefore we need to develop in all three areas. Our Master Instructor is an Ordained Minister and teaches from a biblical perspective. Therefore frequently our instructors will offer a prayer or biblical pep talk at the end of each class. We train in a godly atmosphere with Christian Cardio music playing and we also have several events that are ministry based. A martial arts ministry is a martial arts school that serves it's members from a Christian perspective and strives to help those in need. We strive for excellence in every facet of our ministry. We are the only Christian Martial Arts Ministry in St. Louis and one of leading schools in the martial arts industry. We do have people from all walks of life and from several different faiths that are very happy with our school. We look forward to having the opportunity to help you reach your greatest potential!

BE THE NEXT "KARATE KID"!

St. Louis Martial Arts Center is an extension and outreach of Family Fellowship Worship Center. Within our ministry we strive to teach spiritual, mental, & physical discipline, focus, confidence, respect, perseverance, and many more life skills along with excellent self-defense. The best way to understand what a Christian Martial Arts ministry is, is to think of a Buddhist Temple. Along with their spiritual development they also train in the martial arts. The main difference is we are simply not Buddhists. We are located in Florissant, MO in North County St. Louis. We teach a combination of many different martial arts styles such as the following:

  • Tae Kwon Do (Sun Do Sul, WTF system, Olympic sparring) Korean Style Karate
  • Kung Fu (Wing Chun, Five Animal Styles, Chinese Boxing, and Tai Chi)
  • Hapkido (Korean Art of Self Defense)
  • Jiu-Jitsu (Submission Grappling)
  • Boxing & Kickboxing
  • Muay Thai
  • Many Weapons (Bo-staff, sai, escrima, sword, knife, nunchakus, metal fighting fan, etc..)
  • Tai Chi (Yang Style) Separate Tai Chi classes available. - Taught by Ms. Joan Wang from China.

Our spiritual doctrine is based on the FULL gospel. We want to follow God's word and not man made religious traditions.

At St. Louis Martial Arts Center our focus is to help you reach your greatest potential in a very positive professional manner by teaching you leadership skills that will help you in all areas of your life. We strive to keep a godly atmosphere and allow the Holy Spirit to guide us in every session. Call today and mention this website and receive a FREE LESSON for you or your entire family. Whether you want to have a closer relationship with God, get in better shape, learn more discipline, be a national competitor or be in a martial arts movie, we can help you to obtain your goals. Our goal is to help you to achieve YOUR goals!

Importance of Martial Arts

.

Most people do not realize the true importance of Christian Martial Arts education. There are many reasons why Christian Martial Arts should be a priority for you and your family. It is a mistake to ask our children if they are interested in taking martial arts instead of making it a requirement. Of course, all parents want their children to enjoy it and most of them certainly do. Asking a child if they are interested in martial arts is the same as asking them, "Do you want to learn to show respect, do you want to learn discipline, do you want to exercise and work hard, do you want to learn to control your temper, and do you want to learn to focus better on your school work?" These lessons should not be an option for our children or for ourselves. A Christian Martial Arts program is not just about kicking and punching, it is about life skills, character development, and spiritual maturity.

Here is a question to ask yourself:

Do you think you or your child will be successful with just a scholastic education if you or they have not learned discipline, confidence, respect, perseverance, leadership and goal setting? Of course not, and martial arts education provides those necessary life skills to be successful.

Another question for parents:

If someone were to try to kidnap or molest your child, do they have the necessary skills to defend themselves? How much would it be worth to you as a parent if a child molester or kidnapper tried to take your child and they defended themselves and got away? Do you understand that these things are happening everyday? Do you think that there is no way that it will ever happen to your child? We must love our children enough to provide self-defense training so that they can truly defend themselves from an attacker.

At St. Louis Martial Arts Center we have learned that when families train together they are able to experience a bonding that they can not get anywhere else. As you train as a family you will be able to learn the same things and test to your next belt levels together. You can also go home and spend time practicing together and have a great time together! Imagine your entire family getting your Black Belts together. A black belt family is such a wonderful accomplishment!

FAMILIES THAT PRAY TOGETHER, STAY TOGETHER!
FAMILIES THAT KICK TOGETHER, STICK TOGETHER!
